2011 Corporate Challenge 5k Run/Walk

28 JSC employees participated in the

28th Annual Corporate Challenge in 2011.

2011 Wellness Pot Luck Celebration



Thank you to everyone who joined the 2nd Annual JSC Employee Wellness Celebration on Wednesday, May 18th in Stearns Dinning Hall. A lot of wonderful food appeared as over 40 employees participated in this social celebration. Events from the year were highlighted and committee members were recognized for their efforts. Also a special GREEN wellness gift was handed out to attendees!


Walk This Way! Challenge Complete

Congratulations to the 10 JSC pedometer teams who completed the 8-week "MOVEMENT IMPROVEMENT" challenge! A couple teams were awarded prizes at the Wellness Celebration on Wed., May 18th for their efforts during Week 7 and Week 8.

Week 7 Winners: Walk this Way!

Increased their steps by 119,000 steps from week 1.

Week 8 Winners:

The Penguins who became avid Spinning enthusiasts through the 8 week challenge.

Week 7 Winners: Team WOW who through many life obstacles stayed consistent and commit ed to their "Movement Improvement"

And also team Walking Wonders were Week 8 Winners! They improved their step count by 71,000 steps in comparison to week 1 of the challenge.

Week 6 Walk This Way! Pedometer Challenge









Two pedometer teams were awarded prizes for their MOVEMENT IMPROVEMENT in week six of the challenge.


Both teams accumulated over 100,000 steps more than their week one results. The teams said there improvemets came from exercising on the weeknds biking and hiking, to practicing flash dance moves!!



Lunch and Learn: Coping with Everyday Worry




On Wednesday, May 4th the Wellness Works at JSC Committee hosted a Lunch and Learn titled: Coping with Everyday Worry. The presentation was ofered through CIGNA's Employee Assistance Program. The group learned some healthy ways to cope with anxiety and stress and what it feels and looks like. Over twenty JSC employees attended the event and enjoyed the informational session along with the social lunch.

Week 5 Pedometer Challenge!

The 3 SSS: Sally Reynolds, Sandy Duffy and Sue Mann have been consistent in their movement improvement.
The Flash Drives: Pam Gelineau, Alice Kirk and Jo Anne Edwards are also winners this week!


Consistency is key in making changes and creating new habits. Two teams we're awarded prizes for the Walk This Way! Pedometer Challenge this week. The Flash Drives from he JSC Library and The 3 SSS! They're two groups that have kept to tracking there steps and making movement improvements. Good Work!
